Hosted by a hotelier, not a lettings agency
Guesture is run by its founder, Pedro Reis. He studied hospitality management in Portugal, where he is from, and opened his first hostel while he was still a student. He then spent eight years in hotel management, including as General Manager of the Manor Hotel in Crickhowell, a four-star hotel with an AA Rosette kitchen.
Hotels teach you that a stay is judged on small things: the linen, the welcome, the answer to a message late at night. Pedro started the business full time in Newport in 2017, as AirFreedom, to bring that standard to apartments and homes. In 2024 it became Guesture: the same team, the same standards, and a name that says what we do.
We see ourselves as hospitality business developers rather than property managers. We keep our portfolio deliberately small, so every home is looked after by people who know it and every owner has Pedro's direct line. We also take on bigger projects: larger properties, and hotels and aparthotels we run for their owners.
Behind Pedro is a small local team: an operations coordinator in Cardiff, our photographer and the cleaning teams we work with. Every home has its own online check-in and online guest area on our guest platform, so guests have everything on their phone, and a person to answer when they need one.
Pedro is a member of the Dragons of Newport, a breakfast business network.
