Malpas Road runs through a residential part of north Newport, with a bus stop by the front door and Sainsbury's and ALDI on nearby Albany Street. Friars Walk, the riverfront and Newport station are about 20 minutes on foot or five by car. The Grange University Hospital and the Royal Gwent are both within about ten minutes' drive.
Junction 26 is under a minute away: Cardiff about 25 minutes, Bristol about 40, Cwmbran about 10. Fourteen Locks, Tredegar House and ICC Wales are all within a 15-minute drive. From Newport station, trains reach Cardiff Central in as little as 10 minutes and run direct to London Paddington.
